A bruising runner
A good jumper
A little work and he could be handy in the scrum
A potential jumping option
A true master of the breakdown
Already amongst the best I have ever seen in the scrum
Already dangerous in open space
Amazing ability to create opportunities for others
An absolute master with his boot
An asset at scrum time
As good as it gets in the scrum
Bit of work and he will be an asset on attack
Brilliant eye for the game
Could be a strong runner one day
Could develop into a good kicker with some training
Good boot on him
Good skills at the breakdown
He has a handy boot
He is a real crowd pleaser
He is already good in the scrum, we could make him great
He is already good, we could make him a great defender
He is good at creating opportunities for others
He is hard to get past
He is very much at home in a ruck
A bit of work and this guy could be a real asset at the breakdown
I see the foundation of a great playmaker here
I think this kid could develop into a real attacking weapon
Just dominant in the lineout. World class
Just electrifying given a bit of space
Kid can tackle
Knows how to set up a try
Knows his way to the tryline
No shining light here
Nothing much to like here
Nothing really stands out
Nothing special here
One of the most skilled and courageous defenders I have seen
One the most bruising runners I have seen
Outstanding defender, enough said
Outstanding general, who leads others through holes in the defence
Some good attacking skills here, no doubt
Some good power here for a youngster
Some playmaking potential here
Some potential at the ruck here
Some potential here
Some potential in the scrum here
Some potential to be a kicking option
Strong as anyone I have seen with the ball in hand
The makings of a dangerous open field runner
The makings of a powerful runner
This guy will be feared by his opponents
This kid already knows his way around a scrum
This kid can make defenders look silly
This kid has the foundation to become a solid scrummager
This kid is very solid in the lineout
To be honest nothing really stood out in the skill department here
Tough to bring down with the ball in hand
Unfortunately nothing to write home about
We could turn this guy into a good defender
We could turn this guy into a solid playmaker
What a force in the lineout. Brilliant
What a talent!
With a little training he could be a good jumping option
World class in the ruck
Wow, this guy is a brutal runner
You should see the boot on this kid. Boom!

I have decided to retire at the end of the season.
I love this game, and hope there are opportunities to contribute to the club in some capacity in the years ahead.
I still feel like I have a big contribution to make to the team this season.
I wanted you to be the first to know this will be my last season in the game.
It has been a tough decision, but I think it is the best call for me and my family.
Lets make it count and do our best to bring home some silverware.
Looking forward to making it a memorable one.
My family and I have decided that this season will be my last.
My retirement
Really going to miss playing this game,
Retirement
Thanks for everything,
Thanks for your understanding and all your support during my career,
Thanks,
This is going to be my last season as a player. The body is not coping well anymore!
Time to retire
Unfortunately I will be retiring at the end of the season.
Welcome
Welcome aboard. I would like to take this opportunity to go over some basics with you and make sure you are ready for your busy first week. See the check-list below to help you get familiar with your new surroundings.
1. Finances
You will see that you have some funds available right away. Try to avoid treating this like spending money.
Most of your income will come from gate takings at home games. During away weeks you will have minimal income, but still need to be able cover player wages and facility upkeep.
If you are unlucky, you may have a long streak of away games in a row. It is up to you to plan ahead and make sure you can cover your away weeks.
Bare in mind that player wages will still go out during the playoff period.
It is up to you how you spend the money the clubs earns, but it always pays to make sure you have these basics covered.
2. Match preparation
In your first week as manager you have a lot to think about and should get to know your squad and decide how best to utilise them. Before rushing ahead to your first match, you might want to consider the following,
Squad selection - Make sure you are happy with the starting squad and make any adjustments you deem appropriate.
Training match - Have a look at your team in action with a training game. This can help you get a feel for your lineup and where any gaps might be.
Training programs - Make sure you are happy with your players training programs, and make any adjustments you see fit.
Recruitment - Take a look at the free agent and transfer listings, particularly if you have some holes to fill in the current lineup. All teams can make offers on players at the end of each round, so talent will likely be snapped up quickly. Also, have a look at the contracts of your current players and cut any unwanted players by setting them to be released at the end of their contracts. It might also pay to take a look at youth scouting. You have until the end of the season to scout these guys, so no need to panic. Just keep an eye out for any standouts that may warrant further scouting.
Strategy - Make sure you are happy with your current strategy. Make any changes that you feel suit the style you want your team to play.
Opponent scouting - Want to take a look at next weeks opponent? Choose the 3D sim option to sim and watch any scheduled match. This takes longer than the regular sim but can provide valuable insight on your opponents.
This should help you get started, but remember it is up to you to shape and build this team into the best team they can be. We are excited to see what you can do and wish you the best of luck!
Best Regards,

HOME PAGE
The home page is the hub of your franchise where you can view the standings, fixtures and matches for all rounds of the current season. Match simulation is also triggered from this page.
Matches can be simulated as either full 3D our quick sims. 3D simulation takes the longer, but provides you with a full 80 match to watch. Sim time is approximately 4 minutes. You can request a 3D sim for any game you might want to watch simply by clicking the button next to that fixture. All 3D matches can be rewatched at any time during the season and are cleared at the end of the season. Quick Sims are much faster and typically take 20 to 30s. However, these provide the result only, and are not available for viewing.
Simulating a match will result in all unplayed matches before it being automatically simulated as well.
You can progress to the next round by clicking the advance round button which appears once all games for the current round have been simulated. It is at this point that wages are paid and offers for players will be made and considered/accepted. Play-offs will start after advancing the final regular season round of the competition. A playoff tree will appear and playoff games will be available for 3D or quick simulation.
Competition structure
The competition features the Pro D2 and Top 14 from the French National League.
The Top 14 features 14 teams playing 26 regular season rounds, with each team playing each other team home and away. The two lowest sides on the ladder at the end of the competition are relegated to the Pro D2 competition.
The Pro D2 features 16 teams playing 30 regular season rounds, with each team playing each other team home and away. The end of season playoff winner and runner up are promoted to the Top 14 competition.
In both the Top 14 and Pro D2, the top 6 ranked sides, as determined by regular season competition points, participate in the playoffs. The quarter final round features matches between the teams ranked 3rd v 6th and 4th v 5th, with the 1st and 2nd ranked sides gaining automatic entry to the semi final round. In the semi final round the lowest ranked winner from the quarter final round plays against the 1st ranked side, with the remaining two teams making up the other semi final match. The grand final is contested between the two semi final winners.
In both the Top 14 and Pro D2, 4 competition points are awarded for a win, 2 for a draw, and 0 for a loss. The winning side also receives a bonus competition point if it scores 3 or more tries than the other team. The losing side receives a bonus competition point if it only loses by 5 points or less.
All ties in standings are decided by wins, points differential (+/-), bonus points and then coin toss.
INBOX
You will receive notifications here about things such as player wages, facility upgrades and retirements. Keep an eye out for the mail icon on the page banner which indicates you have mail.
FINANCES
View your revenue and expenses for the current round, previous round and a summary of the last 10 weeks.
Individual transactions for the last 10 weeks can be viewed on the list below the summary tables.
Revenue comes primarily from ticket sales at home games, with additional revenue coming from members and merchandising. There is also a $500,000 prize for the winner of the grand final. Gate takings in playoff matches are split between the two participating sides regardless of who is home and away.
The main expenses are paying player wages and upkeep of facilities. Focus training players also incurs additional costs, as does youth scouting, but these are optional.
Additional sources of revenue and expenses come from the buying and selling of players respectively.
Staying in control of your finances is a very important part of your management responsibilities and key to long term success.
CONTRACTS
View and adjust players contract length. Contracts will auto renew unless you select the option to release on expiry. Players can only be released at the end of their contracts.
The overall rating of a player (OVR) is an indicator of the quality of the player. In general, players with high OVR will have higher wages. Your scout will try to negotiate the lowest wage for a player each time his contract is renewed. If a player has improved significantly from his last contract renewal, he will likely get a pay rise. The higher your scouting facility level the better your scout will be at negotiating a cheaper pay rate for players.
Player wages are paid weekly for all competition rounds, including playoffs. This is regardless of whether or not your side makes the playoffs, so be prepared.
Here is a rough guide for OVR and salary. A good scout should be able to negotiate better deals most of the time.
will be paid approximately

Maximise your secondary source of income by investing in this facility. While this source of income can be small compared to that of the stadium, it is not subject to the same fluctuations and provides a steady revenue stream without major overheads.
Increase the rate at which your players skills improve.
Increase the rate at which your players physical attributes improve.
Increase the number of players presented to you in the transfer market and free agent listings. With each level you will also have a higher chance of revealing the primary and secondary skills of any youth player. Better scouts will also be more likely to get players to sign up to a lower weekly pay when they join your club or renew their contract.
Increase your revenue through marketing. This will help you maintain ticket sales and merchandising even when the team is not performing well.
Increase the rate at which your players lose or gain weight.
PLAYER MOVEMENTS
Here you can view all player signings from the transfer market and free agents listings made in previous rounds (up to the last 120 sales are visible). This will help you to see where players are going and how much they are going for, which should guide you when making or accepting offers on players you are buying or selling. The worth of a player is likely to be reflected by the price of similar players in recent transfers. The market is dynamic and you should expect fluctuations over time. So make sure you keep up with any trends to ensure you get the best value for your club.
The list is refreshed when a round is advanced.
Youth signings will also be visible on this list after they take place at the end of the season.
SQUAD SELECTION
Here you set your starting line-up and reserves. Use the sorting tools to assess your players and decide who should go where. You have 5 save slots to store different lineups. You can choose which lineup to use by selecting it on the Play Match page.
The players card which is visible on many ingame pages is a useful guide and shows the players age, height, weight, nationality and all of his skills and attributes. The players stars give a broad view of key areas where the player stands out. There are eight different stars, each representing a different Rugby skillset. These are,
Space attack - the ability to exploit space and make meters primarily using speed, acceleration, agility and elusivness.
Power attack - the ability exploit space and dominate contact primarily using speed, acceleration, strength, weight, breaktackle and fending.
Defence - the ability to make effective tackles primarily using speed, acceleration, agility, tackling and awareness.
Ruck - the ability to rapidly get to and control the breakdown on attack and defence primarily using speed, acceleration, and rucking.
Scrum - the ability to contribute to a dominant scrum primarily using strength, scrummagging and weight. Note that players that are too tall can have difficulty holding their binding in the scrum and are prone to being penalised and sometimes injured as a result. This effect starts at a height of about 190 cm and increases the more a player exceeds this height.
Lineout - the ability to win and contest lineout ball primarily using height and lineout jumping.
Playmaker - the ability to create space for others primarily using speed, acceleration, agility, handling, passing, kicking and awareness.
Superboot - the ability to gain territory, create attacking opportunities and kick goals primarily based on kicking and goalkicking.
In all cases a higher value of a skill or attribute is considered better than a lower one. Whilst the effect of most skills and attributes are self evident, a few are discussed further below.
Players become fatigued during the game. In addition to running around, certain events like tackling sap energy and result in players becoming fatigued faster. When a player gets fatigued their performance reduces (lower max speed, more likely to miss a tackle and drop the ball).
Once a player has become fatigued he will take a certain amount of time to recover after which he will no longer be considered fatigued and the cycle repeats. The fitter he is, the less time he will take to recover.
As the number of times he has been fatigued increases during a game, so does the amount of time it takes him to recover and the severity of his drop in performance.
Players with high awareness will generally react faster to changing game situations. They will be more likely to consider a larger variety of options in any given game situation.
In addition, if two players are the same apart from their awareness, the player with the higher awareness will be slightly more likely to carry out a successful step, goosestep, dummy, tackle, break tackle, fend, catch and retain the ball in contact.
Players with high finesse are more likely to carry out an effective dummy, spin move or goosestep.
Players with low discipline are more likely to be fooled by elusive manoeuvres, and also more likely to engage in offside play.
STRATEGY
Here you set what you would like your players to do in different areas of the field. It is up to you to put together a strategy that utilizes your player strengths to give them the edge going into a game. You have 5 save slots for different strategies. Set one aside for your catch up and use the others as you see fit. Your general strategy is the strategy that your team will use by default. Catch up strategy will only be used instead of your general strategy if you are losing by 1 point a minute or more.
Tight play - Forwards will hit the ball up close to the ruck area.
Back play - Ball will be sent wide to the backs.
Kick for touch - Kicker will attempt to find touch with a kick.
Kick infield - Kicker will attempt to find space and maximum distance, while keeping the ball in play.
Attacking kick - Kicker will attempt a bomb, grubber or chip at their discretion with the objective of his team recovering the ball from the kick.
Drop goal - Kicker will attempt a drop goal.
Ruck Numbers
Attack - Set the general number of players you would like to commit at attacking rucks. More players means a higher chance of retaining the ball, but less players available for attack.
Defence - Set the general number of players you would like to commit to a defensive ruck. More players means a higher chance of winning a turnover, but less players available to defend.
Set the desired depth of your kick offs.
Set the desired depth of drops outs from the 22m line.
Backline Depth
Set the depth of your attacking back line.
Line speed
Set the general speed at which your defensive line moves up.
Kick Return
Set what you want your team to do when fielding kicks from deep. They can either run it back, try to kick it back for distance, or put in an attacking kick.
Choose what you would like your players to do when a penalty is awarded.
TRANSFER - BUY
Make offers on players listed by other teams. You must choose a contract length and offer an appropriate transfer fee to the club selling the player. Other clubs may also make offers on any player.
The player will consider all offers and make a decision during the round roll over. You will be notified in your inbox if the player has joined your team, in which case they will transfer to your club immediately.
If the player does not join your team, you can check the player movements page to see if he joined another club. You can then adjust your market view accordingly if you wish.
The kind of transfer fees that a team will accept will depend on the current market. You can get an idea of this by checking player movements and seeing what similarly skilled players are going for. In general the better your scouting facilities, the more transfer listed players you will have for view each week.
Here is a guide to the approximate number of transfer market players you will see with each scouting facility level (provided there are sufficient players available to view).

TRANSFER - SELL
List any player you wish to sell and you will receive offers from other teams during the round rollover.
The kind of transfer fees that a team will offer depends on the current market. You can get an idea of this by checking player movements and seeing what similarly skilled players are going for.
FREE AGENTS
Players who are not currently signed to a team will be listed here. You can offer them a contract and signing bonus to entice them to your club.
A signing bonus will work the same as a transfer fee. The player will consider all offers during the rollover and generally take the highest offer. Where offers are similar players tend to choose the club that is performing better.
In general the better your scouting facilities, the more free agents you will have for view each week.
Here is a guide to the approximate number of free agents you will see with each scouting facility level (provided there are sufficient players available to view).
YOUTH SCOUTING
At the beginning of each season there is a draft list of youth players made available to all teams.
You can test various aspects of these players abilities by performing tests and assessing their skill sets.
Some primary and secondary skill assessment results will already be visible, based on the background work your scout has put in during the season scouting young players. In general, the higher your scouting facility level, the more likely it is you will see skill assessments that are already unlocked. If you wish to perform additional tests or assessments, this will incur a fee. Purchasing all results in bulk for a given player can be done at a small discount.
If you see a player you want to sign, simply put in an offer. He will consider your offer among any he as received from other teams at the end of the season, and you will get to see if he joins your club at the beginning of the next season. If you miss out on him, be sure to go to the Player Movements page and see how much he went for. Its tough out there!

GENERAL TRAINING
You can choose to train one physical agttribute and one skill for each of your players. The more a player has trained a physical attribute or skill from its initial levels the slower the improvement becomes. As a result, training any attribute or skill will initially see reasonably quick returns that will eventually start to diminish.
Each player has two unique training rates. One for skills and one for attributes. It is up to you to determine whether a player is a fast or slow trainer. In general, players will improve skills faster than physical attributes.
Below Weight
Above Weight
The size of all effects is about the same, except for fitness and injury for which the effect is much larger.
FOCUS TRAINING
Focus training can be added on top of general training for any skill, but not for physical attributes. It will result in slow but steady gains, the rate of which does not reduce as training increases but rather remains constant.
Focus training can be used either to double up on what the player is already training or to gain improvements in another area. Beware though, focus training requires players to have one on one sessions with expert trainers costing $5,000 dollars per week per player and automatically recur unless turned off.
A player with maximum skill training rate (99) will focus train at a maximum rate of 0.75 skill points per week. This rate scales linearly with skill training rate. For example, a player with approximately 50 skill training rate will focus train at half this maximal rate. Focus training is not effected by weight gain or loss.
WEIGHT GAIN/LOSS
Players can gain or lose roughly 10kg above or below their natural weight.
The rate at which your players gain or lose weight is determined by the level of your nutrition facility. Outside of nutrition facility upgrades and upkeep, there are no costs for weight loss and gain.
Weight gain and loss also effects the rate players train in some areas.
Some attribute and skill training rates are faster(+) or slower(-) when a player is above or below his initial weight. These effects are summarised in the table below, and only take effect when a player is at least 3kg lighter of heavier than his starting weight.

You can select from various benchmark teams to play a training game against. These teams vary in skill, as measured by their average player OVR. Training team A provides the toughest challenge with Training Team D being the weakest of the training sides.
The strategy the training team uses is selected from your own teams strategies. It is up to you to observe and create a strategy that your opponents might use if you wish to make full of this feature.
Training matches cost $5,000 dollars. Players will not be effected in any way by the training match (e.g. they will not become fatigued for the upcoming match).

Every four years we get a chance to prove we are the best rugby nation in the world. You can feel the anticipation ahead of kick off in our first match.
Good luck!
The nations hopes are in your hands.
Here are a few tips to help you along the way,
Use the rookie level to become familiar with all the game controls before you progress to other levels
Try to master passing, offloads, break tackles, steps and fends. The rookie level is also great for getting a feel for the timings of these
Mostly you will want to hold down the sprint button, so make sure you remember to do this
Although sprinting is key, it can often be useful to take the foot of the gas to let support players catch up, or help with timing a perfect pass to put a player through a gap
If you want to keep the ball or steal it from your opponent, being first to the ruck is key
Try and commit defenders before you pass
Diving to make a tackle can be a great way to put the ball carrier straight to ground, but they are easy to miss. Most of the time you should look to make conservative tackles by simply running into the ball carrier
Remember to drive in the tackle, both on attack and defence. This is a great way to get a few extra meters, force an attacker back, or direct the tackle toward your support players
Try to avoid getting tackled when isolated from your support, you might get turned over or penalised for holding onto the ball
When you are on a break and there is not much support, remember chips and grubbers can be a great way to keep the play alive and create spectacular scoring opportunities
If you have an easy opponent, consider resting star players before the game to make sure they are not injured for crucial upcoming fixtures
Especially on harder difficulties it often pays to play for field position, just like in real rugby
